FBM was born on April 19th 1977 as a Society manufacturing machines for confectionery industry.
The name FBM comes out from the names of the two founder partners, Mr Ferrari, for the trade department, and Mr Bonente, engineer and designer of industrial machinery coming from several experiences in this field.
The range of machines manufactured by FBM in the first period of its history were mixers for bread, mechanical drop machines for biscuits and tempering machine with water cooling and screw conveyor.
This kind of production lasted until the beginning of the 80es, when FBM changed its kind of production stopping manufacturing machines for bread and improving its technology in the field of the machines processing chocolate, introducing the cooling tunnels, enrobers for chocolate and compound, melting tanks and tempering machines with air cooling.
During the 80es, FBM faces its first boom as the manufacturer of the tempering enrobing machines MINITRIS, which invaded the Italian market - thus stopping the import from Northern Europe of such machines - and actually put an end to the selling of the wheel tempering machines, still much widespread in those times.
In the field of drop machines, then started a strong competition with the concurrence which brought FBM to be known as the manufacturer of indestructible and versatile machine, allowing the firm to be one of the most distributed trade marks among the drop machine manufacturers.
In the beginning of the 90es, FBM started to use electronic for controlling the functions of the machines, meeting thus the requests of the market, and to develop a set of optional to match with the standard production of the machine processing chocolate.
In the middle of the 90es, FBM growth knew a slow down, as the owner, at those times, were an age in which it was difficult to find the right stimulation to improve the technology.
In the end of 1997, FBM were bought by GRUPPO BOSCOLO which, with Boscolo s.r.l., had been for several years the main customer of FBM.
Since 1998, FBM has known a second technological boom and a renovated commercial development all over the world, which has brought FBM to be present with its machines in more than 60 Countries in each continent and, of course, to be well established as a leading company in Italy for the machines processing chocolate, as well as facing at the same level with the other competitors in the world.
Nowadays, the factory and the offices of FBM are located in Legnano (MI); FBM manufactures hundred of machine processing chocolate and tenths of drop machines each year.
FBM has got a planning branch dedicated to the technological development of the machines already in production, a branch for the new machines which are designed after careful market researches all over the world, and a third branch for the design of industrial machinery, as, in the last years, FBM has become the supplier of some very important names among the confectionery industry.
FBM is a firm turned toward future, in order to give its customer more time to free their imagination for their production, allowing them to spend less and less time on the check up of the right use of the machine. With FBM everything becomes so easier, that the working struggle becomes almost a pleasure.
